Trevor Gordon Hall
Trevor Gordon Hall is an acoustic/electric guitarist from Spring City, PA. He has enjoyed the inspirations of many guitarists ranging from Michael Hedges, Phil Keaggy, Don Ross, and Doyle Dykes, all the way to Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, and Steve Vai. He was born in 1985 and was raised on Windham Hill (George Winston, Will Ackerman, etc.) and classical music, which to this day is easily recognizable in just one listen.Trevor was born in Utica, NY, but spent most of his childhood in Rochester. He started playing piano and trumpet in his early
years but quickly moved to the guitar. In his eagerness to play at age 10, Trevor built a guitar out of wood and fishing line, which held up for a very short time before he had to borrow a guitar from a neighbor. Then after saving up some money, Trevor bought his first guitar and the instrument has consumed his life since. After a year of being self taught, Trevor decided to get some lessons. He studied at Atlas Music in Webster, NY, for a year and then went on to the Hochstein School of Music in Rochester, NY, for a couple of years. The family moved to Pennsylvania where Trevor studied at the Community Music School in Reading, PA. After a year of that Trevor met up with a guitar professor named Don Reese and began studying under him at Valley Forge Christian College. His professor opened him up to many different styles and possibilities on the guitar, and it has left a lasting impression. Trevor continues to explore new sounds and ideas.
Trevor is a graduate of Valley Forge Christian College with a degree in Theology and a concentration in Philosophy of Religion. He enjoys reading, composing, traveling and all kinds of gigs. Trevor tries to promote a sense of inspiration and euphoria through his instrumental pieces and is continuing to experiment with all styles ranging from Celtic to Metal. “Music is a language and a language has to say something. If all I ever did was practice technicalities and learn to play fast and flashy then I should expect my listener’s to be skeptical, but I want to say something more and I hope that my music screams and echoes from beyond my instrument.” Music must mean something; Trevor is hoping to convey that meaning.
